Abstract
This paper aims to map out expansion movements within French producer services networks. Network organisations growth is reflected through increasing setting-ups of new establishments controlled by a head-office. Despite a great variety of growth objectives and several location factors, this paper aims to focus on patterns of location strategies. Nevertheless can these patterns be linked with innovation spatial diffusion processes? Contagion matrixes and employment areas hierarchy are used to analyse these diffusion processes of establishments considering their head-office first. The macro level of this study allows us to define the relative weight of the contagious expansion diffusion, on one hand, and of the hierarchical diffusion expansion, on the other. At a micro level, this weight slides between one or the other process depending on the centrality degree of the employment area.
